Guide to Using Seedream References

Learn how to use Seedream References. Upload up to 3 images to guide style, colors, or layout and generate fresh visuals with our AI Image Generator.

What Are Seedream References?

Seedream 4.0 doesn’t just respond to text prompts, it can also use images you upload as references. You can add up to three at a time, and the model will look at them for things like style, colors, layout, or specific details, then combine that with your prompt.

For example, you could:

  • use two fashion lookbook photos as references and ask Seedream to design a new outfit in the same aesthetic.
  • take a brand graphic as a reference and make a completely new one, but with matching aesthetic
  • blend multiple references: borrow the pose of a character from one illustration and blend it with the style of another.

Step 1. Open Image Generator and Select Seedream 4

Head to getimg.ai and choose ByteDance Seedream 4 from the model dropdown (or simply click here).

Step 3. Upload Your Reference Images

In the Reference Images section, upload up to three images (press "Add reference" for a new upload box to appear):

  • From your device: drag and drop or click to select.
  • From past generations: hover over any image in Image Generator and click ‘Use as reference’.

Seedream will read each one, looking at style, layout, and elements.

Step 4. Generate
