What is Director Mode?

Video Generator’s Director mode, powered by the powerful MiniMax Video 01 model, offers unprecedented control over camera movements and cinematography in your AI-generated clips. With 15 distinct camera movements at your disposal, you can transform simple text prompts into dynamic 5-second video sequences with professional-looking camera work.

This makes it particularly valuable for creating establishing shots, dramatic reveals, action sequences, and atmospheric scenes. Note that this mode is exclusively Text to Video, meaning that image uploads are not supported.

How to Generate Videos with AI in Director Mode?

Step 1. Select the Director Mode in Video Generator

Head to the Video Generator and select the Director mode.

Step 2. Write a Prompt and Select Camera Movements

Craft a descriptive prompt that outlines: 

• Main subject or scene description (what/who is being filmed)

• Setting details (location, time of day, weather, atmosphere)

• Visual style (lighting, color palette, mood)

• Any specific actions or movements happening in the scene

• Desired artistic style or reference to film genres

• The atmosphere and emotional tone you want to convey.

The defining feature of Director Mode is camera movement. Below the prompt box, you'll find options to select specific camera actions:

• Truck left/right: the camera moves horizontally

• Pan left/right: the camera pivots horizontally

• Push in/Pull out: the camera moves closer to or further from the subject

• Pedestal up/down: the camera moves vertically

• Tilt up/down: the camera pivots vertically

• Zoom in/out: the camera's focal length changes

• Shake: the camera shakes, creating a sense of instability

• Tracking shot: the camera follows a moving subject

• Static shot: the camera remains stationary.

Click on the camera movements that best suit your desired cinematic effect. You can select up to three actions at a time.

Step 3. (Optional) Create a Soundtrack:

You can check the "Generate soundtrack" box to add automatically generated music and noise.

Step 4. Generate and Download

Click "Generate video" and wait for the AI to create your video. The finished product can then be downloaded to your device in MP4 file format.
