Guide to Editing and Deleting Elements
Learn how to manage your Elements in getimg.ai. Update images, names, types, and instructions, or permanently delete Elements you no longer need.
What Does Managing Elements Mean?
Managing Elements means making changes to existing Elements or removing them entirely when they are no longer useful.
Over time, you might want to:
- Improve an Element by adding better images
- Adjust how an Element is used
- Rename an Element to keep things organized
- Remove Elements you no longer need.
All of this can be done directly from the Elements panel.

How to Edit an Element
Editing an Element lets you update it without starting from scratch. Edits apply immediately after saving and affect all future generations.
Step by Step: Editing an Element
- Open Elements in the Content Generator sidebar.
- Find the Element you want to edit.
- Click the three dots in the top right corner.
- Select Edit.
You can now make changes.
Editing Images
Inside the edit view, you can:
- Add new images
- Remove existing images.
To add images:
- Click the empty square with ‘+’ icon or press the ‘Upload’ button to add images from your device
- Press the ‘Select’ button to pick images from your getimg.ai gallery.
To remove an image:
- Hover over it
- Click the trash icon in the top right corner.
If your results feel inconsistent, replacing or removing weaker images often helps more than adding more.
Editing the Name
You can change the Element name at any time.
Good reasons to rename an Element:
- You created multiple similar Elements
- The original name is unclear
- You want to standardize naming across your account.
Renaming an Element means you must use the new name in future prompts.
Editing the Element Type
You can change the Element type if your original choice no longer fits how you use it.
Editing Instructions
You can update the Instructions field to better reflect how you want the Element to be used.
This is useful when you discover edge cases you want to avoid.
Examples of updates:
- Adding exclusions
- Clarifying intended context
- Limiting where or how the Element appears.
Save Your Changes
When you are done editing, click Save changes.
Your updated Element will be available immediately.
How to Delete an Element
Deleting an Element permanently removes it from your account.
This includes:
- The Element itself
- All images uploaded for that Element (if you selected existing images from your getimg.ai gallery, they will remain accessible in the gallery).
This action cannot be undone.
Step by Step: Deleting an Element
- Open Elements in the Content Generator sidebar.
- Find the Element you want to remove.
- Click the three dots in the top right corner.
- Select Delete.
- Confirm your choice.
After deletion, the Element will no longer be available in prompts.
