Guide to the getimg.ai MCP Server

Learn how to connect getimg.ai to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible assistant and generate images, video, and audio from it.

What Is the getimg.ai MCP Server

The getimg.ai MCP server connects getimg.ai to AI assistants and code editors that support MCP (Model Context Protocol).

Once connected, the assistant can generate and edit media with getimg.ai on your behalf. Results are saved to your getimg.ai library.

Available Tools

  • Images: generate, edit with references, upscale, resize, remove background, relight
  • Video: generate from a prompt or first and last frame, use references, upscale
  • Audio: generate music, speech, and sound effects
  • Actions: headshots, sticker maker, photo restoration, product orbit, UGC video, and more
  • Library: find and reuse media from your getimg.ai library
  • Account: check your credit balance and connected team.

The model is selected automatically. To use a specific model, name it in your request.

Connecting getimg.ai

Server URL: https://getimg.ai/mcp

No installation or API key is needed.

  1. Open your assistant's MCP settings (may be called Connectors, Integrations, Tools, or MCP servers).
  2. Add a new remote server and paste https://getimg.ai/mcp as the URL.
  3. Log into your getimg.ai account in the browser window that opens, select the team the assistant should use, and approve the connection.

Generating Media

Describe what you need in your request, for example:

  • "Generate a 16:9 image of a coffee shop interior."
  • "Remove the background from this image."
  • "Upscale the last two images I generated."

Video and audio generations take longer. The assistant returns the result when it's ready.

Using Your Own Files

To use your own images, videos, or audio as input:

  • Upload the file to your getimg.ai library, then ask the assistant to use it.
  • Paste a public link to the file in your request.
  • Upload the file in the chat, if your app supports it.

Credits, Library, and Teams

  • Credits: generations use your plan's credits at the same rates as in the app.
  • Library: results are saved to All media. Links shared in the chat expire after 24 hours; the files stay in your library.
  • Teams: each connection uses one team's credits and library. To switch teams, disconnect getimg.ai in your assistant and connect again.
