Guide to Custom Generation Parameters

Learn how to switch between Auto and Custom generation settings in getimg.ai to control models and prompt enhancement.

What are Custom Generation Parameters?

By default, Content Generator handles key generation settings for you, so you can just describe what you want and get great results right away. That’s the Auto Mode: it’s what most people use, and it’s what we recommend.

But if you’d like more control, you can switch to Custom Generation Parameters and adjust things yourself. In this mode, you can manually pick the AI model and turn prompt enhancement on or off.

⚙️ Switching to Custom Mode

To switch to Custom mode:

  1. In the prompt box inside Content Generator, click the settings icon (to the right of the image/video count selector).
  2. Choose Custom instead of Auto.

You’ll now see all available generation options for your chosen type (image or video).

🧠 Choosing a Model Manually

In Auto Mode, getimg.ai automatically picks the best model for your prompt.

In Custom Mode, you can select it yourself. Press on a model name to expand the drop-down list.

Once you choose a model, you’ll see key details below, including:

  • Supported aspect ratios
  • For video: available lengths and extra options (like First/Last Frame and References).

This information helps you pick the model that best fits your goal.

✏️ Turning Prompt Enhancement On or Off

By default, Prompt Enhancement is active. It expands short prompts into detailed, high-quality descriptions automatically.

To turn it off, toggle the Prompt Enhancer switch in the Custom settings panel.

Toggle it again to turn it back on.

Tip:

We strongly recommend keeping this feature on unless you’re experimenting or testing specific prompt structures.

🔄 Returning to Auto Mode

Want to go back to smart automatic settings? Just open the same settings menu and click Auto again.

Choose the mode that fits your flow: hands-off or hands-on, you’ll get great results either way.
