How It Works

Removing a background in getimg.ai takes just one click: you don’t need to mask or select anything.

The AI isolates the subject automatically and gives you a clean, transparent background.

Use the Remove Background Feature

This is the fastest and most recommended way to remove a background.

1. Click on any image within the Content Generator to open it in full view.
2. Press the stack icon (the bottom one) next to the edit prompt box.
3. After clicking the icon, a new version of your image with the background removed will be generated automatically. Your original image will remain untouched.

Alternative Methods

While the one-click icon is the easiest option, you can also remove backgrounds using a text prompt.

Option 1. Remove Background Using the Main Prompt Box

1. Click the file with a plus icon (📄➕) in the prompt box.
2. Choose an image from the Generated or Uploaded tab, or upload a new one from your device. You can also drag and drop an image from the gallery into the prompt box.
3. In the prompt box, write what you want to do. The best option is to simply say: “remove the background”.
4. Click the arrow to generate.

Option 2. Remove Background from Full Image View

1. Click an image in the Content Generator to open it in full view.
2. Use the prompt box below the image to describe your edit. All you need to write is “remove the background entirely”.
3. Click the arrow and wait a moment.

Your original image remains untouched: a new version with a transparent background will appear in your gallery separately.
