Guide to Image Editing Basics

How It Works

Image editing in getimg.ai happens directly inside the Content Generator. No need for layers, masks, or separate editing tools.

You can edit in two main ways:

• Using the full image view (for previously generated or uploaded images).
• Using the main prompt box (for previously generated or uploaded images, as well as new uploads)

Option 1. Edit from Full Image View

If you’re editing something you’ve already generated or uploaded before:

1. Click the image to open it in full view.
2. The prompt box will appear just below the image.
3. Write your edit prompt (e.g., remove the text on the wall, make it black and white) and click the arrow.

Not sure what kind of edits you can make? Available options include (but are not limited to):

• adding or removing people and objects
• changing the background
• restyling
• restoring old photos.

Additionally, to the right of the edit prompt box, you'll find three icons that allow you to:

• upscale
• resize an image
• remove the background.

Option 2. Edit from the Main Prompt Box

Step 1. Head to the Content Generator and add an image.

• Click the file with a plus icon (📄➕) in the prompt box and choose your image from the Generated or Uploaded tab (you can also upload a new one), or
• Drag and drop it directly from the Content Generator gallery, or
• Hover over an image in the Content Generator gallery, click ⋯, and select Use image.

Step 2. Write your edit prompt.

You can change a single thing, or chain multiple edits in one prompt.

Examples:

• make the lighting warmer and add a cup of coffee on the table
• turn this photo into an oil painting.

Step 3. Press the arrow in the prompt box to generate.

A new, edited version will appear, while your original stays unchanged.
