Guide to Image Editing Basics
Learn the basics of image editing in getimg.ai: how to enhance, restyle, and transform images using simple prompts.
How It Works
Image editing in getimg.ai happens in plain language. No need for layers, masks, or separate editing tools.
You can edit in two main ways:
- From the full image view (for any image already in your gallery).
- From the Create image prompt box (for any image you already have, or a new upload).
Option 1. Edit from Full Image View
If you're editing something already in your gallery:
- Log into getimg.ai and click any image to open it in full view.
- The prompt box appears just below the image.
- Write your edit prompt (e.g., remove the text on the wall, make it black and white) and click the arrow.
You can use the left and right arrows to move between images while editing in full view.
Not sure what kind of edits you can make? Available options include (but are not limited to):
For technical tasks, getimg.ai includes dedicated Actions in the sidebar:
Option 2. Edit from the Create Image Prompt Box
Step 1. Use an image as a reference
Open Create image from the Actions section in the sidebar, then add an image. You can:
- Click the Reference button in the prompt box. Press Upload file to pick one from your device, or Select existing to choose an image you already have in your gallery, or
- Drag and drop an image straight from your gallery into the prompt box, or
- Hover over an image in your gallery, click ⋯, and select Use as reference.
Step 2. Write your edit prompt.
You can change a single thing, or chain multiple edits in one prompt.
Examples:
- make the lighting warmer and add a cup of coffee on the table
- turn this photo into an oil painting.
Step 3. Press the arrow in the prompt box to generate.
A new, edited version appears, while your original stays unchanged.
That's it! Now it's your turn. Try starting with a simple edit, then combine multiple changes within one prompt to see how powerful this feature is.
