Guide to Upscaling Videos

Learn how to upscale videos in getimg.ai. Increase resolution to 1080p or 4K with Topaz models.

How It Works

Video upscaling increases your clip's resolution and sharpness while keeping the original content and look intact. It's how you turn shorter or lower-resolution footage into a cleaner, higher-resolution version for client work, social channels, or any setting where the final quality matters.

Upscaling a Video

To upscale a video in getimg.ai:

  1. Log into getimg.ai and from the Actions section in the left sidebar, click Upscale video.
  2. Click the box at the bottom of the page to pick a video, or drag and drop a file straight into it. You can upload from your device or select a clip you already have in your gallery. Source videos can be up to 100 MB and 15 seconds long.
  3. Pick an upscaling model and a target resolution (1080p or 4K).
  4. Press the arrow to start. A new, higher-resolution version appears in the Upscale video gallery above, and your original stays untouched.

You can also start an upscale straight from any video in your gallery: hover over the clip, open the three-dot menu, and pick Upscale video. The Upscale video Action opens with that clip already selected, ready for you to pick a model and resolution.

Choosing an Upscaling Model

The model picker includes three Topaz upscalers: Topaz Astra 2, Topaz Proteus, and Topaz Starlight. Each one handles source footage a little differently. If you're unsure which to use, run the same clip through each model and compare the results before settling on one for your project.
